HISTORIQUE

Bref, nous sommes réunis autour du Christ dans un ministère commun pour le Réveil et l’Evangélisation de l’Eglise ;
Ephésiens 4,11-16

SOURCE D’INSPIRATION

IBCC needs your partnership
In missionary endeavors today, biblical principles of partnership are being applied to reach the world with the good news of the Gospel. The word partner would appear to be derived from the Anglo-French word, ‘parcener,’ an old legal term denoting coheirship. It signifies one who shares, takes part, or is associated with another in action! Such partnerships always evidence a genuine, mutual commitment and involvement. Scripture provides insights into the early Christian community's partnerships as recorded in Acts 2:41-47 and 4:32-37. The Apostle Paul in II Corinthians 8 also cites the example of the Macedonian churches who gave beyond their power.

Despite their deep poverty, they were found, to their credit and power, to be involved in ameliorating the distress of the Judean church. As they had first given themselves to the Lord, they soon recognized that spiritually they were part of the universal body of believers and made an active choice to enter into the suffering of the Judean Christians.

In 1 Corinthians 12 the description given of bodily unity and interdependence is perhaps the locus classicus of true Christian partnership. The coheirs association of ideas can also be clearly perceived in Ephesians 3:6, from which the Greek text could accurately be translated as partners.

The Apostle Paul's threefold missionary insight was always to please his Lord and be involved in a life in which he accepted responsibility and unlimited liability. Love found a way forward to others through his koinonia partnership. At the heart of any true partnership can be found a spirit of listening, giving and forgiving.

Finally, all of you have unity of spirit, sympathy, love of the brethren, a tender heart and a humble mind (1 Peter 3:8).
