HISTORIQUE

Bref, nous sommes réunis autour du Christ dans un ministère commun pour le Réveil et l’Evangélisation de l’Eglise ;

SOURCE D’INSPIRATION

You shall not steal
By Dr. Jean d'Arc K. Campbell

Jesus once told the story of a man journeying from Jerusalem to Jericho. You might remember this as the story of the Good Samaritan. The man was robbed, beaten and left by the side of the road. A priest and a Levite passed by the man but didn’t stop to help. A Samaritan saw the man and stopped to help him. This Samaritan also made financial provisions for the man and made sure he was nursed back to health.

Obviously, the robbers believed “What belongs to this guy, also belongs to me. I can take whatever I want.” That’s active and blatant stealing — the most common way this commandment is broken.

But there are other ways to steal that aren’t quite as blatant. To carelessly go into debt without the means to pay off what you’ve purchased is stealing. Many people rack up huge bills on several credit cards, and then simply declare bankruptcy. To purposefully go into debt knowing you don’t have the means to pay your bills, is breaking this eighth command from God.

To be hired for a full day’s work and not put in a full day is also stealing. Taking too long on a break, coming in late, leaving early — all these habits are ways of taking what’s not rightfully yours. We can also steal by taking someone’s good reputation and purposefully ruining it. Every time you gossip about someone and negate their character, you’re stealing from him. You may have friends who have tried to steal your faith. Perhaps they’ve laughed at you and made fun of your belief in Christ. They’re trying to rob you of something you own. We can also steal by refusing to share with others. Jesus told of a man who was very wealthy and had much more than he needed.

Instead of sharing his wealth, he simply built bigger barns and hoarded what he had. Everything you have was given to you by God Himself. It’s possible to hold so tightly onto your material possessions that you end up losing them. God meant for you to share what He has blessed you with. To refuse to do that is stealing, because you’re not giving away what God intended you to share with another in need.

Know It!

You can also steal from God by not giving Him what is rightfully His. Have you given Him complete control of your money, your talent, your service? Do you give generously in tithes and offerings?

Read It!

Exodus 20:15;

15 "You shall not steal.

Luke 10:30-37;
30 In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.
31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.
32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.
34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.
35 The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'
36"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"
37 The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

Luke 12:16-21;
16 And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. 17He thought to himself, 'What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.'
18"Then he said, 'This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
19 And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." '
20"But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?'
21"This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God."

Malachi 3:8-9.
8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me.
"But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'
"In tithes and offerings.
9 You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me.

Pray It!

Pray Mark 8:36, and tell God to make you aware of anything you’ve stolen. Then ask for His strength to make it right.

WE NEED YOUR HELP
Please help us build our fast growing church. Any kind of help is very welcome. We will pray for the blessing from our living God to flow in your house and business. At this point, we desperately need a building in which to worship our God. If you can help in any way, please contact us and God will bless you.

OUR PROJECTS
We are planning to rebuild some of the many schools that have been destroyed in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo during the five year war in which four million lives were lost. So many children need food, clean water, and medicines. Our project is so big but by the grace of God we know it shall be done.
