The choice is yours to make

So that the land could not support both of them dwelling together; for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together, and there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were dwelling in the land. Then Abram said to Lot, "Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen. Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left."And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley, and Lot journeyed east. Thus they separated from each other. Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom. Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the LORD. " (Genesis 13:6-13)

God through the sacrificial lamb (The Lord Jesus Christ) gave us a choice. He did not want to force anyone to be saved, but he rather gave us the freedom to choose between salvation and eternal suffering. As we live, a two way street stretches ahead of us, one leads to everlasting life and the other leads to everlasting misery. Furthermore, the Bible says that there can never be any point of contact between those in light and those dwelling in darkness, simply because the two have absolutely nothing in common. This Abraham understood, but Lot did not and so he made his choice and chose to settle among a blasphemous people, who disgusted the Lord and were nothing but rebels. On his way there, Lot had enjoyed all the blessings that came with him being around Abraham who was a very wealthy man because he respected God and honored him. By the time Sodom and Gomorrah were done being destroyed, the only thing Lot came out with was his life, partly thanks to Abraham’s prayer for him because he was his nephew.

Today, you are faced with the same choice. There are two paths in front of you and you have to choose where to go. No one will choose for you because you are no longer a slave, as you have been freed by the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. You can choose to follow the crowd among which reside rebels, which will end up taking all you have and your life if you are not as lucky as Lot was. On the other hand, you can choose to follow in the footsteps of Abraham, which is the way of God and this will bring nothing but joy, wealth and eternal satisfaction in your life. Brothers and sisters, you are at a crossroads and a decision is yours to make! One way may be paved with gold right where you can see it just so you can be impressed and then attracted and get lost forever. Another way is as simple as the blood of the Lamb at the entrance, which will lead to eternal life. The choice is yours to make.
